Paul Sanders Park of Brandon, Florida, just north of Riverview, is a fun place to go when on a visit to the southeast part of the city. With plenty of parking, shaded areas, and open space to run, play, and enjoy, this park is ideal for spending the day with family and kids. During the summer, the park becomes even more popular due to the annual Bass Pro Shops Family Fun Day. While the park is free to visit, you can also join Bass Pro Shops for a special event where you can take part in workshops and play games with your family.
Paul Sanders Parks is located at the West Bloomingdale Post Office and the Hillsborough County Resource Management Rapid Response Team. The park offers shaded areas, trees to climb, plenty of open space, and is also home to several picnic pavilions and bathrooms. There is even a playground for children. However, this park is not suitable for kids who are taller than 4 feet. There are also portions of the playground that are unshaded. This park does not have a large recreational cement area, so it is not ideal for families with children who are interested in skateboarding or football.
Like most recreational centers in Hillsborough county, this small leafy park creates a great atmosphere for fun for families. It is suitable for kids between 2-12 years and is also wheelchair accessible. The playground is a great place to start the fun. It features numerous swings, slides, jungle Jims, climbing ropes, and lots of activities suitable for kids of all ages. You can leave your kids at the playground with the supervisors while you enjoy a good stroll through the trails or a cozy moment under any of the numerous oak trees found within the park.
Another great spot for family fun in this compact park is the picnic area which features picnic tables, sheltered areas, and barbecue grills. The pavilions are also another great spot for birthdays and events. You can book them Mondays through Saturdays, but Sundays are usually on a first-come basis. Parking lots are accessible in the area, but make sure you come early if you don’t want to witness so much crowding, as the place is usually crowded Mondays through Sundays, especially during the summer.
If you have kids that go to Riverview High School, then Paul Sanders Park is a great place to bring them for the annual Bass Pro Shop Family Fun Day.
